THE PROBLEM:
The pandemic has had a devastating impact on students’ academic achievement in this country. The impact has been felt even more acutely by the most economically disadvantaged students that Tutoring Plus serves. The following numbers illustrate the magnitude of the challenge at hand:
- 50 new students sit on the waitlist, while Tutoring Plus works to secure additional funding.
- 20% increase in the achievement gap nationally between low-income students and their higher income counterparts on the national math proficiency test
- 37% pass rate on the MCAS at one of Tutoring Plus’ local partner schools
Tutoring Plus is uniquely qualified to partner with local schools and low-income housing developments to address this challenge, given our history and model:
